Privacy and cookie policy

Our site doesn't use cookies and doesn't ask you for personal information. Here we explain which data may reach whom.

Visit Akçakoca is a non-commercial travel guide. There are no accounts, forms or comment sections; we don't ask you for personal information. The site itself doesn't use cookies. This page explains, under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), which data may reach whom while you browse the site.

In short

Which data may be processed?

1. Server and security logs

When you open the site, your browser, as with any website, sends your IP address, browser and device information and the address of the requested page to our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare). These technical logs are used to run the site, protect it against attacks and fix errors; for this purpose Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (e.g. __cf_bm).

2. Third-party services

Some pages load data from other services to show content. When they do, your browser sends your IP address to these services:

ServiceWhat forWhere
Google FontsFontsAll pages
OpenStreetMapEmbedded mapPlace pages
Open-MeteoWeather and sea conditionsHome page, weather and sea pages, beaches

Google Maps, Yandex, Apple Maps, Waze and other external links only open when you click them; from then on, that site's privacy policy applies.

3. Advertising spaces

The areas marked "Advertisement" on the pages belong to the site's supporters, Otel Akçakoca and Boğaziçi Restaurant. These areas set no cookies and don't track you. Standard campaign tags (UTM) showing which page the visit came from are added to the links; these tags contain no personal data. When you click a link, the opened site's own privacy policy applies.

4. Email

If you write to info@visitakcakoca.com, your name, email address and message are used to reply to you and to correct any error you report. Emails are stored on our email provider's servers; they are not used for any other purpose or shared with anyone.

5. What is stored in your browser

The site doesn't write any personal information to your browser's local storage (localStorage) or to cookies.

Transfers abroad

The servers of the service providers above may be outside Turkey. This transfer is necessary for the site to work technically and is limited to providing these services.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to find out whether your personal data is processed, to request information, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object. You can send your request to info@visitakcakoca.com; we will reply within 30 days at the latest.
