Akçakoca Harbour is in the town centre, a few minutes' walk from the Central Mosque. The fishing shelter and the marina are side by side.
The breakwater is a meeting place for anglers; depending on the season, they catch horse mackerel, bluefish and young bluefish. The lighthouse at the end of the breakwater is one of the district's favourite spots for sunset photos.

Old photographs show that the town's old municipal beach was where the fishing harbour is today. The new fishing season begins at the harbour when the fishermen put to sea on 1 September with the traditional cry of "vira bismillah".
Before you go
- Watch the sunset from the breakwater.
- When casting a line, keep clear of the boats' manoeuvring area.
- You can find the fish of the season on the "Fish in Akçakoca" page.
