Cumayanı Picnic Area is about 3 km south-west of Akçakoca centre, within Göktepe village. The monumental plane trees by the stream are estimated to be around 350 years old.
The area has the Evliya Mosque and the Tomb of Secaeddin Ebu Ahmet Dede. According to tradition, the mosque began as a dervish lodge founded by Oghuz clans; it burned down in 1938 and was rebuilt in the same form that year.

The tomb is still a place for wishes and votive offerings; local people tell legends about Ahmet Dede and Kaplan Dede. The area gets very crowded at weekends.
Before you go
- Go on a weekday for a quiet day.
- Dress appropriately when visiting the mosque and the tomb.
