Kurugöl Canyon is south of Akçakoca centre, within Kurugöl village. It was declared a picnic area in 2006 and a nature park in 2011.
A trail with easy and hard sections runs along the stream in the canyon, which is covered in hornbeam, oak and beech forest. There is also a waterfall on the trail.
The canyon is popular for canyon trekking, nature photography and rock climbing. It is at its liveliest in spring and summer.
